Making of Room 17's Milk Story

For the end of this year's prize giving day, there will be a bit of change.
Each class will be showing their learning journey, and for Room 17, we decided to do our Milk Story. We originally played this play at the Ambury Farm, but we made some twists to make our own Milk Story.
We all worked really hard to write our scrips and is currently working on making props.

Ice Cream Making

Last week we made our ice-cream in our class.
1 st we put cream into two mixing bowls, then we started to whip it with egg beaters.
It took everyone to whip it up!
2 nd Mrs Giovanni poured condense milk into the freezing bowl.
3rd She folded gently to mix condense milk together.
4th We put it into the freezer over night!
Then we ate it! Yum!

The puppet show

We worked on the actual puppet show in our class...

WeetBix

Today we had two special visitors to school to talk about WeetBix Triathlon. As a school we are encouraging our students to get fit and healthy, and our PTA is taking this initiatives to the next level. They are giving $10.00 to each student who is enrolling to this event. The fee is $35.00 per child. Hence each student will be paying $25.00 to enter this special event.  It will be held on 9th of December. Let's keep ourselves fit and healthy!

There will be training sessions starting soon for students who are already enrolled to this event on the field after school. The detail will be informed to those students' family.

More ANZAC

BK was named after his Great Grand

father who was a medic at village of Krithia which is located over the ridge at Gallipoli. He received a special medal (the only one in the world) for his saving General Brereton's life. BK is very proud to share his Great Grandfather's story for his homework!

ANZAC

To commemorate 100 years of ANZAC we had our ANZAC assembly at the school hall.
We also baked ANZAC biscuits. After the assembly we all tasted the biscuit and they were...
Yummy, super awesome, scrumptious, terrific and delicious!
By the time we were going to take photos of them, they were long gone! Some of us wanted to make them again at home, so there is the original recipe of ANZAC biscuits we used. Enjoy!

Remember it will be ANZAC long weekend, so Monday is off.

Next Friday's Assembly will be run by Room 17! Please come and support us!

ANZAC Biscuits

1 cup rolled oats
1 cup plain flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 (three-quarters) cup coconut
125g (4 oz) butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
½ (half) teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 tablespoon boiling water
Combine oats, sifted flour, sugar and coconut.
Combine butter and golden syrup, stir over gentle heat until melted.
Mix soda with boiling water, add to melted butter mixture, stir into dry ingredients.
Take teaspoonfuls of mixture and place on lightly greased oven trays; allow room for spreading.
Cook in slow oven (150°C or 300°F) for 20 minutes.
Loosen while still warm, then cool on trays.

Makes about 35.
